Notes : I'M BACK! After slicing off the tip of my finger and having to take off for a week, the meet has been in jeopardy. First doctor told me that i wouldnt be able to lift for 6 weeks. Second doctor told me i could lift in a week. Third doctor told me he wasn't sure. Finally after a week of wrapping my finger, unwrapping it and being disappointed, and being absolutely miserable, the doctor told me today that i could get back at it. Sweet baby Jesus i almost jumped off the table and hugged him.
After training my ass of for 3 months and getting as strong as i've ever been in my entire life, the thought of not being able to compete and put myself on that platform made me absolutely nauseous. It was the worst off mentally i'd been in some time. Today was the first time they took the bandage off and it looked better. The skin is starting to close over the wound and im guessing it will be covered up by the beginning of next week.
As far as training is concerned, the plan is to absolutely destroy my legs this week and start pressing as much as i can. I don't want to pull anything off the ground until this thing is a little further along and closed up. Nervous to press tomorrow, but if the doctor said i was fine i just got to go for it and try to block out any pain. Ill hit my opening number next wednesday which is when ill pull for the first time since 2 weeks ago. Not an ideal situation, but id rather compete with a less than ideal situation than not compete at all.
For those who are curious, here is how the finger looked today. Whenever you take the gauze off it bleeds a little because the gauze tends to stick to the wound. But the skin is starting to close in.
Ready to lift, feel strong, feel aggressive. So ready.
